About Oddbird

What is Oddbird?

Oddbird is a European wine house dedicated to creating premium wines liberated from alcohol. Our philosophy is rooted in craftsmanship, quality grapes, and a natural approach to winemaking. Every bottle begins in the vineyards of Europe and carries the same care, complexity, and character as traditional wine.

Who founded Oddbird?

Oddbird was founded in Sweden in 2013 by Moa Gürbüzer, a social worker, family therapist, and Master of Social Science. For over two decades, Moa worked with families affected by alcohol-related harm, which inspired her to pioneer a radical change in how we view drinking. Her vision was simple yet powerful: choosing a wine with or without alcohol should be as natural as choosing coffee with or without milk. From this idea, Oddbird was born – a wine house dedicated exclusively to crafting premium wines liberated from alcohol. Today, Oddbird is the world’s leading producer in the premium alcohol-free wine segment and the largest in Europe.

Where is Oddbird available?

Oddbird is available in more than 30 countries. You can find our wines at selected retailers, restaurants, wine bars, and hotels across Europe, North America, and beyond. Availability varies slightly from country to country, but our network is growing continuously.

Where are your wines produced?

Oddbird collaborates with around 135 carefully selected vineyards France, Italy and Spain, all practicing organic and sustainable viticulture. Many of these are natural wine producers, and we are proud to be the only company in the world producing natural wines without alcohol. With this foundation, we have set a new global standard for quality in de-alcoholized wines.

Do you do research?

Yes! Our innovation is driven by our Head of Product Development, a PhD in wine science, and supported by our own research center in Alsace, France. There, a team of oenologists, chemists, and wine experts continuously explores and develops advanced methods to craft authentic wines without alcohol, ensuring the highest possible taste and quality. With this foundation, we have set a new global standard for quality in de-alcoholized wines.

Our Winemaking

How do you remove the alcohol?

We use a patented, gentle, low temperature method designed to preserve the aroma, structure, and complexity of the wine. This allows us to keep everything that matters in the glass while removing the alcohol with care.

Are your wines fermented like traditional wines?

Yes. All Oddbird wines go through a full, natural fermentation just like any traditional wine. Only after the wine is complete do we remove the alcohol. This is why the taste and character remain intact.

What does low intervention winemaking mean at Oddbird?

It means allowing nature to lead. We focus on quality grapes, minimal additives, and traditional hands on methods that respect the land and the craft. Our goal is purity and authenticity in every step.

Do you add any artificial colors or flavors?

No. We do not use any artificial colors or added flavorings in our wines.
